John Lloyd, The UK’s Davis cup captain has resigned from his job, after Great Britain’s defeat by Lithuania.
Lloyd is not the only departure, it was recently announced that Davis cup coach Paul Annacone was also to leave his job to concentrate on his job as head coach of men’s tennis.
Steven Martens (player director of the Lawn Tennis Association) said that Lloyd wasn’t solely to blame for Great Britain’s tennis losses of late (try telling that to the guys who lost the farm on sports betting!), and said that he intended to examine at all aspects of the men’s game in order to identify and address the nation’s tennis weaknesses.
